Cherokee Valley Course and Club Readies for Exciting Year Ahead with 2020 Membership Plans, Golf Packages and Opening of Core 450

Cherokee Valley owner Matt Jennings can’t hide his excitement when asked about all the amazing things on tap in 2020 for the Greenville area’s leading family-focused club.

“Without question, the year ahead is going to be the most exciting of our ownership tenure,” says Jennings. “Our vision for Cherokee Valley is coming to fruition and we can’t wait to serve our guests, members and community.”

For starters, the club just released its 2020 membership plans and golf packages. Cherokee Valley is a member-focused facility open to outside play; that is to say it is inclusive, not exclusive.

There’s no initiation fee, food and beverage minimums or assessments required. Six value-packed membership plans are designed for today’s modern lifestyle, each requiring only a one-year agreement.

“To grow the game, we have to mold memberships around the realities of today’s busy lifestyles,” says Jennings. “Whether its families, singles or businesses–golfers or non-golfers–they need freedom, flexibility and value. Our membership plans are engineered to deliver these elements.”

And The Kee, always on the prowl for breaking Cherokee Valley news, just got the scoop on 2020 lodging rates for the cottage collection. These cozy accommodations are perfect for golf stay-and-plays or as comfy basecamps for exploring this astounding region.

Without further ado, here’s our lineup of all that’s new (see what we did there).
Membership Has Its Privileges

One of the best club values in the state, Platinum Membership ($200 month family, $165 single) includes full access to golf, the resort pool, golf training facility and spacious practice range. It also features use of neighboring North Greenville University’s (NGU co-op) fitness center and reduced rates for select sporting and special events.

Gold Membership ($175, $145) offers seven-day-a-week access to golf, while Silver Membership ($125 / $100) entitles families or singles unlimited golf on Saturdays and Sundays. Ideal for busy professionals, the Young Executive Membership ($135) offers full weekday and weekend access.

A quick word about the course.

Cherokee Valley is home to the region’s only P.B. Dye-designed layout. It’s a 6,728-yard mountain gem winding through rolling hills and deep dales, sprinkled with ample stretches of gently rolling fairways and trademark Dye green complexes.

(Teaser: speaking of P.B. Dye, we’ll be posting a Q & A with the famed golf course architect soon at The Kee.)

The Sport Adventure Membership ($1,200 / year family, $1,044 single) grants unlimited use of the training facility (with fitness equipment) and golf practice range, two rounds of golf monthly, player development classes, NGU co-op and pool.

The Greenville-Spartanburg region is a hotbed of big businesses like BMW, Michelin, Bi-Lo and numerous others. But the Upcountry is also home to hundreds of medium and small operations (including several serving the golf industry).

Area businesses of any and all sizes looking for a convenient escape from the daily grind can explore a customized Cherokee Valley Corporate Membership. They can be used for entertaining, for retreats or as rewards for star employees.

Annual cart and range plans are also available to add to any membership.

Stay-and-Play a Little While

For traveling golfers, or local groups in search of a golf staycation, Cherokee Valley’s collection of on-site cottages feature four master suites with one or two beds in each, five full bathrooms, great room and wrap-around porches.

They are conveniently located just a few steps from the golf shop and first tee. Full cottage rentals start at $400 and single rooms at $130, per night (tax not included). Golf can be added for $30 or $50 all-day subject to availability.

Ideally located 25 minutes north of award-winning downtown Greenville and 45 minutes from the craft beer capital of Asheville, N.C. Cherokee Valley is the perfect basecamp for exploring the beauty and adventure of the western Carolinas.

Coming Soon, CORE 450

You’ve seen the construction, taken a gander at the renderings, perhaps even visited the new website …

In 2020, Cherokee Valley will open its full-service restaurant, CORE 450 , featuring a contemporary, engaging and casual theme with a diverse menu ranging from small plates and pizza to five course meals.

Stay tuned to The Kee for updates on the grand opening, menus, special events and more.

We want to thank everyone for their support after Hurricane Helene! We are blessed to have such a supportive community during that tragic time for the upstate. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all the communities affected by the storm. We were very fortunate to receive minimal damage to the course, however there is still work to be done. Our maintenance crew is working hard to create the best golf experience in the Upstate. We look forward to seeing new and returning players this fall. As we shift into November tee times will be adjusted due to decreased daylight hours.
