October temps in the Upstate have soared into the high 70s with more prime weather on the way in the coming weeks. Warm, sunny days, lush green overseeded fairways and the changing of the leaves in the Blue Ridge foothills sets up perfectly for a trip to Cherokee Valley for a round of golf with family or friends.

With these “Chamber of Commerce” days on tap and Halloween over a week away, it’s hard to get into the holiday spirit. But nonetheless, we’re 60 days out from the shipping deadline for gifts to arrive before Christmas Eve. And with various supply chains impacted by the pandemic, it’s never too early to get started with your shopping list.

If you’ve ever stared at an endless sea of golf ball brands, training aids and gadgets, you know golfers can be tough to buy for. The Kee is here to make it easy with a diverse selection of gift ideas ranging from memberships to range packs.

Game and Range Packs

While you may not know what golf equipment or apparel your favorite golfer prefers, one thing is for sure: he or she loves to play. With Cherokee Valley’s Game Packs, you can actually give the gift of golf in nine- and 18-hole increments.

Ten and 20 round packs are available featuring substantial savings; the 10-round 18-hole Game Pack includes one free round and the 20-round 18-hole pack includes two.

While every golfer loves to play, not every golfer likes to practice. But for “range rats,” the 10- and 20-bag Range Packs make perfect gifts -- or additions -- to Game Packs, providing the ultimate in convenience and game improvement.

Amazon has done so many things for America, not the least of which is making the gift certificate a perfectly acceptable holiday gift. If you can’t decide on a gift, so simply would prefer your golfer to choose his or her own, $50 Gift Cards are also available at our Online Store.

Branded Apparel

Often times golfers are a bit reluctant to buy themselves a piece or two of branded (logoed) apparel. That’s where the gift-giver comes in. Cherokee Valley is a proud partner of Greenville-based Southern Tide. We have a wide selection of custom logo tees, youth sweatshirts, ladies fleece pullovers, men’s Intracoastal pants and even dog collars and leashes.

We also carry other top-notch brands for men and women in all sizes, including Kate Lord, Straight Down and LINKSOUL, so just stop in and see us or call the golf shop at (864) 689-3585 to check on availability.

Flexible Memberships

Perhaps you, or you and your significant other, have recently contemplated joining a golf or country club. But concerns over initiation fees, expensive monthly dues, food and beverage minimums and long-term contracts have kept you from moving ahead.

Cherokee Valley’s menu of flexible memberships requires no upfront fees, no monthly spending minimums and only a one-year commitment. And monthly dues for all membership types are well below the industry average.

The Platinum Membership, one of the region’s best golf values, includes all greens fees, seven-day-a- week golf access as well as access to the club pool, golf training facility and spacious practice range ($200 monthly for the family, $165 single).

It also features use of North Greenville University’s (NGU co-op) Younts Wellness Center (however, it is currently available for students and faculty at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions) and reduced rates for select sporting and special events.

The Gold Membership ($175, $145) offers seven-day-a-week access to golf, while the Silver Membership ($125, $100) entitles families or singles unlimited golf on Saturdays and Sundays. Ideal for busy professionals, the Young Executive Membership ($135) offers full weekday and weekend access.

The Sport Adventure Membership ($1,200, $1,044, annually) grants unlimited use of the training facility (with fitness equipment) and golf practice range, two rounds of golf monthly, player development classes, NGU co-op and pool.

Members have their own online booking portal and charging privileges in the golf shop. Annual cart and range plans are also available to add to any membership. This is a lot to remember, so just click over to our Membership page anytime.

Business Flex Pass

Earlier this year we introduced the new Business Flex Pass, an innovative full-service entertainment, networking and team-building solution for companies of all sizes. The Upstate is a hotbed of big corporations like BMW, Michelin, Duke Energy and numerous others. But it’s also home to thousands of small businesses.

The Business Flex Pass is chock-full of base benefits including: two (foursome) tee times per month (golf cart and range balls included), 10% off golf shop merchandise and coming soon, a “Partners Tab” with hyperlink on the Cherokee Valley website.

The pass also grants access to Cherokee Valley’s event center or event space on the driving range, a customized outing for up to 16 players (cart included), preferred rates for guests, food-beverage discounts and four NGU sports passes to watch the Crusaders compete in a variety of games and tournaments. For more info on pricing and customization, contact Lauren Landreth at llandreth@cherokeevalleyclub.com or (864) 895-6758 x2.

Golf Packages

For have-clubs-will-travel golfers, or local golf buddy groups in search of a golf staycation, Cherokee Valley’s collection of on-site cottages feature four master suites with one or two beds in each, five full bathrooms, great room and wrap-around porches.

They are conveniently located just a few steps from the golf shop and first tee. Full cottage rentals start at $400 and single rooms at $130, per night (tax not included). Golf can be added for $30 or $50 all-day subject to availability.

Cherokee Valley has also partnered with the historic Westin Poinsett in beautiful downtown Greenville to offer our members 20% the hotel’s best available rate. Located in the heart of one of America’s most acclaimed cities, the AAA Four Diamond hotel is an easy 30-minute drive from the course. Be sure to visit our Partners page for other golf package offers with the Westin Poinsett.

Ideally situated 25 minutes north of award-winning downtown Greenville and 45 minutes from the craft beer capital of Asheville, N.C. Cherokee Valley is the perfect basecamp for exploring the beauty and adventure of the western Carolinas.
